A Search Engine Is A Service That We Can Access Through The Internet. A Search Engine Is A Web-Based Tool Or Software That Helps Internet Users To Find Any Information On The World Wide Web.

सर्च इंजन एक ऐसी सर्विस है जिसे हम इंटरनेट के माध्यम से एक्सेस कर सकते हैं। सर्च इंजन एक वेब बेस्ड टूल या सॉफ्टवेयर है जो इंटरनेट उपयोगकर्ताओं को (www – World Wide Web) वर्ड वाइड वेब पर किसी भी जानकारी को प्राप्त करने में सहायता करता है।

 

 

History of  Search Engine

Search Engine was first invented in Canada in the year 1990. In 1990, a year after the establishment of the World Wide Web (www), the first search engine Archie was born in the Internet world.

It was created by three computer science students Alan Emtage, Bill Heelan and J. Peter Deutsch from McGill University of Canada during their college days.

After this Archie's new form Gophers came in the year 1991.

After this came the WebCrawler search in 1994, which still works today.

After this came in 1995, the world's first popular search engine Yahoo.

Search Engine का आविष्कार सबसे पहले कनाडा में सन 1990 में  हुआ था। वर्ल्ड वाइड वेब (www) की स्थापना के एक साल बाद 1990 में इंटरनेट की दुनिया में पहले सर्च इंजन आर्की (Archie) का जन्म हुआ।

इसे McGill यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ कनाडा के तीन कंप्यूटर साइंस स्टूडेंट्स Alan Emtage, Bill Heelan and J. Peter Deutsch ने अपने कॉलेज के दिनों में बनाया था।

इसके बाद आर्की का नया रूप Gophers साल 1991 में आया।

इसके बाद 1994 में WebCrawler सर्च आया, जोकि आज भी काम करता है।

इसके बाद 1995 में आया, इंटरनेट की दुनिया का पहला popular सर्च इंजन Yahoo.

 

How do search engines work

( सर्च इंजन कैसे काम करते हैं )

Crawling- crores of bots/spiders or programs of search engines go to the Internet and bring data of millions of websites and store them in their database server. This process is called crawling in technical language.

सर्च इंजनों के करोड़ों bots/spiders या program इंटरनेट पर जाकर लाखों वेबसाइटों का data लाकर अपने database server में store कर देते हैं। इस प्रक्रिया को टेक्निकल भाषा में क्राउलिंग (crawling) कहा जाता है। 

Indexing- Whenever a person searches something in a search engine (say Google), Google puts hundreds of websites in order and shows them to that person. This process is called indexing.

जब भी कोई व्यक्ति किसी सर्च इंजन (मान लीजिए Google) में कुछ search करता है तो गूगल सैकड़ों वेबसाइटों को order में लगाकर उन्हें उस व्यक्ति को show कराता है। इस प्रक्रिया को इंडेक्सिंग (Indexing) कहते हैं। 

Ranking and Retrieval- The ranking is the last stage of the search engine. It is used to provide a piece of content that will be the best answer based on the user's query. It displays the best content at the top rank of the website.

Ranking सर्च इंजन का last stage है। इसका उपयोग सामग्री का एक piece प्रदान करने के लिए किया जाता है जो उपयोगकर्ता की query के आधार पर सबसे अच्छा उत्तर होगा। यह वेबसाइट के शीर्ष रैंक पर सर्वोत्तम सामग्री प्रदर्शित करता है।

Google

Google is one of the most popular and trusted search engines in the world. It is created by Sergey Brin and Larry Page as their research project in 1996.

Bing

Bing search engine was introduced by Microsoft in 2009. It is the second most visited search engine in the world. 

बिंग सर्च इंजन माइक्रोसॉफ्ट द्वारा 2009 में पेश किया गया था। यह दुनिया का दूसरा सबसे ज्यादा देखा जाने वाला सर्च इंजन है।

Yahoo

It is the most widely used Internet search engine and the largest web portal. It provides a structure to view thousands of websites and millions of web pages. It was introduced by Jerry Yang, David Filo in Jan,1994.

यह सबसे व्यापक रूप से इस्तेमाल किया जाने वाला इंटरनेट सर्च इंजन और सबसे बड़ा वेब पोर्टल है। यह हजारों वेबसाइटों और लाखों वेब पेजों को देखने के लिए एक संरचना प्रदान करता है। इसे जनवरी 1994 में जेरी यांग, डेविड फिलो द्वारा पेश किया गया था।

YouTube was founded in 2005 by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. It is the best video content delivery search engine. YouTube offers the easiest way to learn new technologies.

Baidu is the first search engine introduced in 2000. It is the dominant search engine in China. It is a free web browser that is used for both Windows as well as Android. 

Baidu 2000 में पेश किया गया पहला सर्च इंजन है। यह चीन में प्रमुख सर्च इंजन है। यह एक फ्री वेब ब्राउजर है जिसका इस्तेमाल विंडोज और एंड्रॉइड दोनों के लिए किया जाता है।

Yandex was started by two Russian developers Arkady Volozh and Ilya Segalovich in 1990. It is a free browser that is available for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS.

Ask was launched by Garret Gruener and David Warthen in 1996. The aim to design Ask is to perform the search based on the questions submitted by internet users.

Naver is also known as Google of South Korea. It was introduced in 1999 and able to pull out various types of results that match from the entered keywords.

WebCrawler is a search engine, and today the oldest surviving search engine on the web. Webcrawler was launched by Brian Pinkerton on April 21, 1994.
