Company Menu

K (Alt + K)

 

Create

This option is used in Create Company.

Alter

This option is used for Alteration and Delete in the company.

Change (F3)

                

This option used in Change Company.

Select (Alt + F3)

This option is used in Select and Load Company.

Shut (Ctrl + F3)

This option is used in Shut Company.

User Management

Change User

With the help of this option, we can change the Username and give it a different username.

Change Password

With the help of this option, we can change the password.

User and Password

Tally prime has two security levels available: Owner and Data Entry Operator.

The owner can access all the data and set up security, create and update user information, while the data entry operator can record vouchers, view certain reports, and so on.

As the owner, you can add more users to your company, modify existing user credentials, delete users, and change permissions for different users.

 

User Roles

If you want to track which users have added, changed or deleted transactions, or want certain users to have full permission to access data in Tally prime, you will need to create a username and password for each of these users. Password has to be created, and rights have to be delegated accordingly.

 

Password Policy

Using the Password Policy, you can activate additional options for the password, such as password strength, password expiry, and so on. Furthermore, you can also enable certain users to change their own passwords.

 

Online Access

Connect

This option is used to connect your company so that users can access remotely it requires internet connection on the computers where Tally Prime is installed.

Disconnect

You can disconnect a company when users no longer need to access your company remotely.

Connectivity Status

This report gives you the details of all the companies connected with browser access and Tally.NET services. This report is active when at least one company is linked.

Remote Access

With this option we can securely access Tally prime from anywhere to record transactions, or view reports while working from client's office or other remote locations.

Browser Access 

Tally Prime Reports in Browser (TRiB) gives you the freedom to view your reports securely in a browser from anywhere, on any device. All you need is a device with Tally Prime, and a web browser and internet connection.

 

Configure

Feature (F11)

Tally prime's feature options make it one of the most flexible systems for optimal inventory management. Features like warehouse management, multiple stock valuation, manufacture, batch and expiry date, job costing etc.

Security

Security control enables you to initiate a password protected system to control access to your company data.

Tally Vault 

An enhanced security system that allows encryption of your company data. Encryption involves converting normally accessible tally information into unrecognizable information, which can only be reconverted by authorized person.

 

Note- The administrator password is case sensitive, and if forgotten, it cannot be retrieved. Once security controls is enabled in the company alteration screen, the field against password and repeat password will display a single star.

Company Data

Backup

Backing up your data at regular intervals helps you to recover you’re backed up data in case your existing data is lost. With Tally Prime, you can easily back up your company's data at any point in time and restore it as and when required.

Restore

You can restore the data of the companies for which you have taken backup. When your current company data is lost or corrupted, you can restore your previous backup data using the Restore option in Tally.

Split

Verify Data

The verify data option automatically detects any errors in the data, before splitting the data, and allows you to fix them quickly.

Split Data

The split data is based on the current data, and is considered as the beginning of the current financial year. Once the company data is split, two separate companies will be created and opened without any change to the original data. After the split, all the companies operate as separate companies.

Go To

G (Alt + G)

Go To menu on the top menu helps you to quickly access any report or Tally Prime features that you want to use. You can use Alt + G to access Go To.

Import

O (ALT + O)

With Tally prime, you can not only maintain your business data, but also easily import masters and transactions from anywhere in the product. You can import data from the screen you're working in, without leaving your ongoing work.

 

Export

E (ALT + E)

In Tally Prime, you can not only maintain your business data but also export it. You can export masters and transactions from anywhere in the product without leaving the screen you're working on.

E-Mail

M (ALT + M)

The required invoices and reports can be easily e-mailed and also configured through the email menu of Tally prime.

Print

P (ALT + P)

You can use the Print menu in Tally Prime to print your vouchers, invoices, sales and purchase orders, and many other statements. Additionally, you can customize your prints by enabling the required options in the printing configuration.
