Secondary Memory (द्वितीयक मेमोरी)

इसे द्वितीयक मेमोरी भी कहा जाता है, जिनका प्रयोग कंप्यूटर में डाटा को Permanent स्टोर करने के लिए किया जाता है। सेकेंडरी मेमोरी एक Non – Volatile मेमोरी होती है जिसमें स्टोर डाटा कंप्यूटर में पॉवर सप्लाई बंद हो जाने के बाद भी सुरक्षित रहता है।

It is also called secondary memory, which is used to store data permanently in the computer. Secondary memory is a non-volatile memory in which the stored data remains safe even after the power supply is turned off in the computer.

 

Secondary मेमोरी को Auxiliary Storage या External मेमोरी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। कंप्यूटर में डाटा Backup का लिए सेकेंडरी मेमोरी का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है।

Secondary memory is also known as Auxiliary Storage or External Memory. Secondary memory is used for data backup in the computer.

Floppy Disk

फ्लॉपी डिस्क एक Secondary Data Storage डिवाइस होती है, जिसका इस्तेमाल कंप्यूटर में डेटा को स्टोर करने के लिए किया जाता है। फ्लॉपी डिस्क एक हार्डवेयर डिवाइस होती है और यह पोर्टेबल होती है। इसे आसानी से एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान में ले जाया जा सकता है।

फ्लॉपी डिस्क ड्राइव का आविष्कार 1967 में Allan Sugart ने IBM में किया था। इसमें स्टोर डेटा को Read And Write कर सकते थे।

A floppy disk is a secondary data storage device used to store data in a computer. A floppy disk is a hardware device and is portable. It can be easily moved from one place to another.

The floppy disk drive was invented in 1967 by Allan Sugart at IBM which could read and write the stored data.

Types of Floppy Disk

1) 5.25 inch floppy disk (5.25 इंच फ्लॉपी डिस्क)

5.25 इंच की फ्लॉपी डिस्क का इस्तेमाल पर्सनल कंप्यूटर में किया गया। यह एक पोर्टेबल स्टोरेज है। 5.25 इंच फ्लॉपी डिस्क की स्टोरेज क्षमता 800 KB है।

5.25-inch floppy disks were used in personal computers. It is a portable storage. The storage capacity of 5.25 inch floppy disk is 800 KB.

2) 3.5 inch floppy disk (3.5 इंच फ्लॉपी डिस्क)

3.5 इंच सबसे छोटी फ्लॉपी डिस्क है। 3.5 इंच फ्लॉपी डिस्क की स्टोरेज क्षमता 1.44 MB है।

 

3.5 inch is the smallest floppy disk. The storage capacity of 3.5 inch floppy disk is 1.44 MB.

CD (Compact Disk)

यह एक पोर्टेबल स्टोरेज डिवाइस है जिसका इस्तेमाल ऑडियो, विडियो तथा अन्य डेटा को स्टोर करने के लिए किया जाता है। CD में डेटा को एक बार Write करने के बाद ,उसे कई बार Read किया जा सकता है। CD का आविष्कार अमेरिकी अविष्कारक James Russell ने 1965 में किया था। इसकी स्टोरेज कैपेसिटी 700 MB होती है।

It is a portable storage device used to store audio, video and other data. Once the data is written to a CD, it can be read multiple times. CD was invented by American inventor James Russell in 1965. Its storage capacity is 700 MB.

DVD (Digital Video Disc /Digital Versatile Disc)

यह CD की तरह ही एक गोल Optical Storage Device होता है।  जिसका इस्तेमाल High Quality Video को स्टोर करने के लिए किया जाता है। इसकी स्टोरेज कैपेसिटी 4.7 GB से 17 GB होती है। डबल साइड डीवीडी की स्टोरेज कैपेसिटी 17 GB होती है।

It is a round optical storage device just like a CD. Which is used to store High Quality Video. Its storage capacity varies from 4.7 GB to 17 GB. Double sided DVD has a storage capacity of 17 GB.

Hard Disk (हार्ड डिस्क)

हार्ड डिस्क कंप्यूटर में एक Data Storage हार्डवेयर डिवाइस होता है।  हार्ड डिस्क ड्राइव (Hard Disk Drive) कंप्यूटर में सबसे बड़ा स्टोरेज डिवाइस होता है। यह एक Non Volatile Memory होती है जिसमें Data Permanent Store होता है। हार्ड डिस्क बड़ी मात्रा में Data को स्टोर कर सकता है। इसकी स्टोरेज क्षमता 500GB से 16TB तक होती है।

Blue-Ray Disc (ब्लू - रे डिस्क)

Blue-Ray Disc एक प्रकार की Optical Disc है जो कि CD और DVD के समान दिखाई देती है।  जिसका इस्तेमाल कंप्यूटर में डेटा को स्टोर करने के लिए किया जाता है। Blue-Ray Disc का इस्तेमाल High Definition (HD) विडियो को रिकॉर्ड करने तथा प्लेयर करने के लिए किया जाता है। इसकी स्टोरेज क्षमता 128 GB होती है।

 

A Blue-Ray Disc is a type of optical disc that looks similar to CDs and DVDs. Which is used to store data in the computer. Blue-Ray Disc is used for recording and playing High Definition (HD) video. Its storage capacity is 128 GB.

Magnetic tape (चुम्बकीय टेप)

चुम्बकीय टेप कंप्यूटर में एक सेकेंडरी स्टोरेज डिवाइस होता है। मैग्नेटिक टेप में डेटा को स्टोर करने के लिए रिबन के केवल एक तरफ का उपयोग किया जाता है। यह Sequential मेमोरी है, जिसमें डेटा स्टोर करने के लिए पतली प्लास्टिक रिबन होती है और चुंबकीय ऑक्साइड द्वारा लेपित होती है।

Magnetic tape is a secondary storage device in a computer. Magnetic tape uses only one side of the ribbon to store data. It is sequential memory, which consists of a thin plastic ribbon to store data and is coated by magnetic oxide.

Pen Drive (पेन ड्राइव)

पेन ड्राइव (Pen Drive) कंप्यूटर में प्रयोग होने वाली एक External डिवाइस है। जिसकी मदद से हम कंप्यूटर के फाइल और डेटा का Backup बना सकते हैं। और इसका इस्तेमाल करके हम Information (डाटा) को एक कंप्यूटर से दूसरे कंप्यूटर में पहुंचा सकते हैं। इसकी स्टोरेज क्षमता 4 GB से 128 GB तक होती है।

 

Pen Drive is an external device used in a computer. With the help of which we can make a backup of the files and data of the computer. And by using it, we can transfer information (data) from one computer to another. Its storage capacity varies from 4 GB to 128 GB.

Memory Card (मेमोरी कार्ड)

मेमोरी कार्ड एक स्टोरेज डिवाइस होता है जिसका इस्तेमाल डाटा और मल्टी मीडिया को स्टोर करने के लिए किया जाता है।  मेमोरी कार्ड एक Permanent और Non Volatile स्टोरेज होता है। इसका प्रयोग हम कैमरा व् फ़ोन में स्टोरेज के लिए करते है। इसकी स्टोरेज क्षमता 4 GB से 64GB तक होती है।
