Transmission Media 

A Communication channel that is used to carry the data from the transmitter to the receiver through the electromagnetic signals. The main function of this is to carry the data in the bits form through the Local Area Network (LAN). 

In data communication, it works like a physical path between the sender & the receiver.

एक संचार चैनल जिसका उपयोग विद्युत चुम्बकीय संकेतों के माध्यम से ट्रांसमीटर से रिसीवर तक डेटा ले जाने के लिए किया जाता है। इसका मुख्य कार्य लोकल एरिया नेटवर्क (LAN) के माध्यम से डेटा को बिट्स के रूप में ले जाना है।

डेटा संचार में, यह sender & receiver के बीच एक physical path की तरह काम करता है।

 

Types of Transmission Media

 

Guided Media

This kind of transmission media is also known as wired otherwise bounded media. In this type, the signals can be transmitted directly & restricted in a thin path through physical links.

The main features of guided media mainly include secure, high-speed, and used in small distances.

इस तरह के प्रसारण मीडिया को वायर्ड अन्यथा बाउंडेड मीडिया के रूप में भी जाना जाता है। इस प्रकार में, संकेतों को भौतिक लिंक के माध्यम से सीधे और एक पतले रास्ते में प्रतिबंधित किया जा सकता है।

निर्देशित मीडिया की मुख्य विशेषताओं में मुख्य रूप से सुरक्षित, उच्च गति और कम दूरी में उपयोग किया जाता है।

 

Types of Guided Media

 

Twisted Pair Cable

It includes two separately protected Conductor wires. Normally, some pairs of cables are packaged jointly in a protective cover.

This is the most frequently used type of transmission media and it is available in two types.

इसमें दो अलग-अलग संरक्षित कंडक्टर तार शामिल हैं। आम तौर पर, केबल के कुछ जोड़े एक सुरक्षात्मक आवरण में संयुक्त रूप से पैक किए जाते हैं।

यह ट्रांसमिशन मीडिया का सबसे अधिक इस्तेमाल किया जाने वाला प्रकार है और यह दो प्रकारों में उपलब्ध है।

 

Types Of Twisted Pair Cable

1.        UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair)

This UTP cable has the capacity to block interference. It doesn’t depend on a physical guard and used in telephonic applications. The advantage of UTP is a low cost, very simple to install, and high speed. 

इस UTP केबल में इंटरफेरेंस को ब्लॉक करने की क्षमता है। यह एक भौतिक गार्ड पर निर्भर नहीं है और टेलीफोनिक अनुप्रयोगों में उपयोग किया जाता है। यूटीपी का लाभ कम लागत, स्थापित करने में बहुत आसान और उच्च गति है।

 

2.         STP (Shielded Twisted Pair)

STP cable includes a particular jacket for blocking outside interference. It is used in rapid data rate Ethernet, in voice & data channels of telephone lines.

एसटीपी केबल में बाहरी हस्तक्षेप को रोकने के लिए एक विशेष जैकेट शामिल है। इसका उपयोग तेजी से डेटा दर ईथरनेट में, टेलीफोन लाइनों के आवाज और डेटा चैनलों में किया जाता है।

 

Shielded Twisted Pair And Ushielded Twisted Pair

Coaxial Cable

This cable contains an external plastic cover and it includes two parallel conductors where each conductor includes a separate protection cover. This cable is used to transmit data in two modes like baseband mode as well as broadband mode. This cable is widely used in cable TVs & analog TV networks.

इस केबल में एक बाहरी प्लास्टिक कवर होता है और इसमें दो समानांतर कंडक्टर शामिल होते हैं जहां प्रत्येक कंडक्टर में एक अलग सुरक्षा कवर शामिल होता है। इस केबल का उपयोग दो मोड जैसे बेसबैंड मोड के साथ-साथ ब्रॉडबैंड मोड में डेटा संचारित करने के लिए किया जाता है। इस केबल का व्यापक रूप से केबल टीवी और एनालॉग टीवी नेटवर्क में उपयोग किया जाता है।

 

 Optical Fiber Cable

This cable uses the notion of light reflected through a core that is made with plastic or glass. The core is enclosed with less thick plastic or glass and it is known as the cladding, used for large volume data transmission.

The main advantages of this cable include lightweight, capacity & bandwidth will be increased, signal attenuation is less, etc. 

यह केबल प्लास्टिक या कांच से बने कोर के माध्यम से परावर्तित प्रकाश की धारणा का उपयोग करती है। कोर कम मोटे प्लास्टिक या कांच से घिरा हुआ है और इसे क्लैडिंग के रूप में जाना जाता है, जिसका उपयोग बड़ी मात्रा में डेटा ट्रांसमिशन के लिए किया जाता है।

इस केबल के मुख्य लाभों में लाइटवेट, क्षमता और बैंडविड्थ में वृद्धि, सिग्नल क्षीणन कम, आदि शामिल हैं।

 

Unguided Media

It is also known as unbounded otherwise wireless transmission media. It doesn’t require any physical medium to transmit electromagnetic signals. 

इसे unbounded otherwise wireless ट्रांसमिशन मीडिया के रूप में भी जाना जाता है। विद्युत चुम्बकीय संकेतों को प्रसारित करने के लिए इसे किसी भौतिक माध्यम की आवश्यकता नहीं होती है।

Types of Unguided Media

 Radio waves

These waves are very easy to produce as well as penetrate through buildings. In this, the transmitting & receiving antennas no need to align. The frequency range of these waves ranges from 3 kHz to 1GHz.

 इन तरंगों का उत्पादन करना बहुत आसान है और साथ ही इमारतों में घुसना भी आसान है। इसमें ट्रांसमिटिंग और रिसीविंग एंटेना को संरेखित करने की आवश्यकता नहीं होती है। इन तरंगों की आवृत्ति रेंज 3 kHz से 1GHz तक होती है।

Microwaves

It is a sightline transmission which means the transmitting & receiving antennas need to align correctly with each other. 

The frequency range of microwaves ranges from 1GHz to 300GHz. These are extensively used in TV distribution & mobile phone communication.

यह एक sightline transmission है जिसका अर्थ है कि transmitting और receiving करने वाले एंटेना को एक दूसरे के साथ सही ढंग से align करने की आवश्यकता है।

माइक्रोवेव की फ्रीक्वेंसी रेंज 1GHz से 300GHz तक होती है। इनका व्यापक रूप से टीवी वितरण और मोबाइल फोन संचार में उपयोग किया जाता है।

 Infrared Waves

Infrared(IR waves are used in extremely small distance communication as they cannot go through obstacles. So it stops intrusion between systems. 

The range of frequency of these waves is 300GHz to 400THz. These waves are used in TV remotes, keyboards, wireless mouse, printer, etc.

इन्फ्रारेड (IR) तरंगों का उपयोग अत्यंत कम दूरी के संचार में किया जाता है क्योंकि वे बाधाओं से नहीं गुजर सकती हैं। तो यह सिस्टम के बीच घुसपैठ को रोकता है।

इन तरंगों की आवृत्ति की सीमा 300GHz से 400THz है। इन तरंगों का उपयोग टीवी रिमोट, कीबोर्ड, वायरलेस माउस, प्रिंटर आदि में किया जाता है।
