Types of Network Topology in Hindi and English /CCC Notes

                       Network Topology

Network Topology is the schematic description of a network arrangement, connecting various nodes (sender and receiver) through lines of connection.

नेटवर्क टोपोलॉजी एक नेटवर्क व्यवस्था का योजनाबद्ध विवरण है, जो कनेक्शन की लाइनों के माध्यम से विभिन्न Nodes (प्रेषक और रिसीवर) को जोड़ता है।

Types of Network Topology

1) BUS Topology

Bus topology is a network type in which every computer and network device is connected to single cable. When it has exactly two endpoints, then it is called Linear Bus topology.

बस टोपोलॉजी एक नेटवर्क प्रकार है जिसमें हर कंप्यूटर और नेटवर्क डिवाइस सिंगल केबल से जुड़ा होता है। जब इसके ठीक दो एंडपॉइंट होते हैं, तो इसे लीनियर बस टोपोलॉजी कहा जाता है।

Features of Bus Topology

1)    It transmits data only in one direction.

2)    Every device is connected to a single cable.

 

 

2) RING Topology

It is called ring topology because it forms a ring as each computer is connected to another computer, with the last one connected to the first. Exactly two neighbors for each device.

    इसे रिंग टोपोलॉजी कहा जाता है क्योंकि यह एक रिंग बनाता है क्योंकि प्रत्येक कंप्यूटर दूसरे कंप्यूटर से जुड़ा होता है, जिसमें आखिरी वाला पहले से जुड़ा होता है। प्रत्येक डिवाइस के लिए बिल्कुल दो पड़ोसी।

Features of Ring Topology

1)    1) Transmitting network is not affected by high traffic or by adding more nodes, as only the nodes having tokens can transmit data.

2)    Cheap to install and expand.

 

3.   Star Topology

In this type of topology all the computers are connected to a single hub through a cable. This hub is the central node and all others nodes are connected to the central node.

इस प्रकार की टोपोलॉजी में सभी कंप्यूटर एक केबल के माध्यम से एक ही हब से जुड़े होते हैं। यह हब केंद्रीय नोड है और अन्य सभी नोड केंद्रीय नोड से जुड़े हुए हैं।

Features of Star Topology

1)    Every node has its own dedicated connection to the hub.

2)    Hub acts as a repeater for data flow.

3)    Can be used with twisted pair, Optical Fiber or coaxial cable.

 

4.   MESH Topology

It is a point-to-point connection to other nodes or devices. All the network nodes are connected to each other. Mesh has n(n-1)/2 physical channels to link n devices.

यह अन्य नोड्स या उपकरणों के लिए पॉइंट-टू-पॉइंट कनेक्शन है। सभी नेटवर्क नोड्स एक दूसरे से जुड़े हुए हैं। मेष में n(n-1)/2 भौतिक चैनल n उपकरणों को जोड़ने के लिए हैं।

There are two techniques to transmit data over the Mesh topology, they are-

1.     Routing

2.     Flooding

Features of Mesh Topology

 1)    Fully connected.

 2)  Robust.

 3)  Not flexible.

 

 

5.   TREE Topology

It has a root node and all other nodes are connected to it forming a hierarchy. It is also called hierarchical topology. It should at least have three levels to the hierarchy.

इसका एक रूट नोड होता है और अन्य सभी नोड इससे जुड़े होते हैं और एक पदानुक्रम(hierarchy) बनाते हैं। इसे पदानुक्रमित टोपोलॉजी(hierarchical topology) भी कहा जाता है। इसमें पदानुक्रम के कम से कम तीन स्तर होने चाहिए।

Features of Tree Topology

 

1.     Ideal if workstations are located in groups.

2.     Used in Wide Area Network.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6.   HYBRID Topology

It is two different types of topologies which is a mixture of two or more topologies. For example if in an office in one department ring topology is used and in another star topology is used, connecting these topologies will result in Hybrid Topology (ring topology and star topology).

यह दो अलग-अलग प्रकार की टोपोलॉजी है जो दो या दो से अधिक टोपोलॉजी का मिश्रण है। उदाहरण के लिए यदि किसी कार्यालय में एक विभाग में रिंग टोपोलॉजी का उपयोग किया जाता है और दूसरे में स्टार टोपोलॉजी का उपयोग किया जाता है, तो इन टोपोलॉजी को जोड़ने से हाइब्रिड टोपोलॉजी (रिंग टोपोलॉजी और स्टार टोपोलॉजी) होगी।

Advantages of Hybrid Topology

1.     Reliable as Error detecting and trouble shooting is easy.

2.     Effective.

3.     Scalable as size can be increased easily.

4.     Flexible.
